It is often when I sin or slip by, I struggle to get back to the track. I peddle and wobble restlessly to be restored unto the Lord. But all my efforts turn futile. It seems that nothing in me can help me work out my Restoration. Of-late I’ve realised that it is this nothingness that facilitates God to come looking for me. I silently walk into His presence and wait there. I remain until He comes and restores in me the Joy of my salvation. May that be half a day, a day or two, but I remain at His feet silently pleading for the gift of reconciliation. And I wouldn’t walk out until I’m assured that I’m restored.
It is very often that we don’t get to repent by ourself. Honestly, we don’t even feel that urge from within. True repentance comes from God, so is the restoration, We need to ask and wait for the Lord to work out His process in us. It is like a small child who disobeys the words of father, and later come and silently remain in the presence of the father. The child doesn’t know what to do but simply goes and stand before the father no matter what. We also, ought to go the Lord likewise. The Heart of the father is very sensitive to the silent walk-in of His children. Sometimes repentance in itself is walking into His presence and silently waiting there at His feet.
As a child of God we need to develop the art of being silent in the presence of our father. He likes to hear, and when He finds His child silent, He is compelled to speak! And when He speaks, His words start working! For He is full of Grace, Love, Compassion and Mercy.
‘Quick, bring the best rope and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet’ (Luke 15:22). These are the very first words that came from the mouth of the Father at the return of his son.
Can you notice that the father didn’t utter a word to his son, but instead spoke to the servants first? God will speak His word to your situations around you at first, He will command His sonship over you. And then He will Restore your identity, and your place in the kingdom of God, and call in for the celebration!! The son simply entered the presence of the father, and the father ran to hug and kiss him and the restoration began!
We sin so often, and still fail to understand the way to get back to God, God doesn’t need our words, He rejoices at the heart of His children coming into His presence. You may feel dry and empty; you may not feel the urge nor His presence. Doesn’t matter! Walk right upto God. Stay there. Make space, Wait on Him. Remember His goodness. Call it a day, sing your song. Your spirit will slowly begin to revive. It’s the sign He has come. He will fill you and lift you up; He restore you all that you’re entitled to, as His child!
